SeisWare 11.0: A Major Leap Forward in Subsurface Interpretation

SeisWare officially rolled out version 11.0 on May 12th, marking a major software release packed with powerful new tools, improved workflows, and enhanced user experience across the board.

One of the standout additions in Field Development Tools (FDT) is the Gun Barrel Viewer, which lets users create and visualize designed pads as a gun barrel view, to help with well spacing and placement. Engineers and geoscientists can now measure distances between wells, view pads alongside grids, and save those measurements as culture—streamlining field planning.

SeisWare’s Basemap navigation will now feel more intuitive with middle-click panning and scroll-to-zoom now available. Cross section creation gets a boost with new template selection and improved customization..

For developers and integrators, the SeisWare SDK now supports Python 3.10–3.12 —perfect for more scalable solution building.

Licensing and database upgrades are also part of this release

Additional updates include:

  • 3D Geophysics is now the 3D Visualizer.
  • The Geology Calculator is renamed to the Advanced Well Calculator.
  • Well Intersections can now output top MD values for porpoising laterals.

The release also sees better data integrity during imports and license handling.

SeisWare 11.0 is clearly focused on delivering a more seamless, robust, and scalable platform for geoscience professionals. Whether you’re working in geology, geophysics, or development planning, this update offers meaningful improvements to enhance productivity and collaboration.
