Hi everyone, I’m Surbhi Sachan.
I joined SeisWare as an Intermediate Software Developer in April 2021, so I’m relatively new to the organization. It’s been amazing working for SeisWare so far, thanks to everyone’s efforts to welcome me to the team. They have been helping me every step of the way. I’m a graduate with a master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Calgary.
I hail from India, moving to Calgary for higher studies. I did my undergraduate in Computer Engineering from NIT Kurukshetra, India, and went to work in the industry for over 2 years before coming to Calgary in fall 2017. Coming from a tropical country, this was my first experience of the fall colours and I landed right on time! Well of course winters followed soon after. I was welcomed with the first snowfall of my life. I transitioned from ‘oh wow, that’s how a snowfall feels like’ to ‘oh god, that’s enough snowfall for this year’ fairly quickly.
When I’m not working, I enjoy dabbling in art. Developing digital art skills is my recent hobby. Other than that I am also trying to keep up with my desire to be able to play a musical instrument well. I also love a good trip, and I’m REALLY looking forward to eventually go on one. It only takes a global pandemic to stop oneself from doing that.
