Hi! I’m Simone. I had the great pleasure of joining SeisWare as their People & Culture Manager in January 2019. A winding path, both educational and career, brought me here. I graduated from the U of C in 1987 with a double major in Economics and Political Science. Through a life of continual learning and career experiences I have worked in the mortgage industry, I studied and worked as an Association Executive for non-profit professional organizations, held various roles within Travel Alberta, and finally on to human resources in the engineering and now technology sector.
I love the experience of travelling, twice having done so for a year at a time. The first time was the classic post-university, throw on the backpack and off I roam. The second time was with my husband, pre-kidlets. Having saved enough money for a house down payment, we choose experience over possession, and took the money and ran!! Highlights included hiking up Mount Kilimanjaro (5,149 m), Tanzania, hiking sand dunes on a 35 F Christmas Day in Sossusvlei, Namibia and hiking to Kalapathar (5,644 m), Nepal to view Mount Everest. I love hiking and thus an affinity to the glorious Rocky Mountains.
I also love to garden and am enjoying the fall harvest of veggies. At this time of year everything is baked with pumpkin or zucchini.
Life is a continuous chain of experiences offering the opportunity to overcome the fear of discomfort and taking on new challenges allowing for personal growth and the feeling of a more profound sense of meaning and achievement. I’m so proud to be part of SeisWare where we focus on giving experiences to our employees and allowing them to embrace learning and growth opportunities in a safe and supportive environment.
