Hi, I’m Miloš.
Since I was about 10 years old (when we left Serbia and moved to South Africa) I somehow found myself moving cities once every few years. Over the years, I have lived in a few different suburbs of Johannesburg, as well as Klerksdorp, Vaal Reefs, and Pretoria before immigrating to London in 2003. I ended up finishing Computer Engineering at Ryerson University (Toronto) in 2009 before finally settling in Calgary in 2010.
I started my adventure with SeisWare in 2013 as a junior software developer. Even though I had lived in Calgary for almost three years I had not yet had much exposure to the oil and gas industry, so I was rather excited to get the opportunity. I must admit that initially it was a rather steep learning curve with a lot of the concepts and language used being completely foreign to me. Luckily, something that could have ended up being very frustrating and challenging became fun and exciting thanks to the teamwork and support that I received from everyone in the office.
One of my favourite things about working here is the flexibility within the company and the culture where we promote individual growth and welcome innovation. My primary role is to develop software, but I enjoy trying to improve the processes and systems the team uses to track work and communicate internally. Throughout the years I have been on teams that have improved our planning process, changed the way we structure and track what we currently working on and the way the development team communicates and shares information with the rest of the company.
Having spent most of my developing years in Serbia and South Africa I am a huge football (soccer) fan. I have played my entire life and it is probably the only sport I truly love. And hate. But mostly love. Sometimes, when I am injured (which unfortunately happens enough to warrant a mention) and forced to stay at home, I love strategy games and getting together with friends.
